Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30th of August 2026. This Privacy Policy explains how VideoPromptGen.com (“we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website and tool.

1. What information we collect
Usage data. We record anonymized usage statistics to understand how the tool is used — for example, the number of requests per day and whether a video was analyzed via a pasted link or an uploaded file. Visitor IP addresses are cryptographically hashed before storage; we do not store raw IP addresses, and we cannot reverse a hash back into an IP address.
YouTube link submissions. When you paste a YouTube link, we send that video ID to the YouTube Data API to retrieve its public description, comments, and thumbnail. We do not access any private information about you or your YouTube account — only publicly available data about the video itself.
Uploaded video frames. If you use the upload option instead of a YouTube link, your video file is processed entirely in your own browser. The video file itself is never uploaded to our servers. Only the still-image frames extracted in your browser are sent for analysis, to a third-party AI provider (OpenAI) for the sole purpose of generating a prompt reconstruction. Frames are not stored after analysis.
Cookies and advertising. We use Google AdSense to display advertising on this site. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings.
2. How we use information
We use the information above to:
- Operate and improve the tool itself
- Understand aggregate usage patterns (e.g., link vs. upload usage) to guide future development
- Serve advertising through Google AdSense
- Respond to support or privacy requests you send us
We do not sell your personal data.
3. Third-party services we use
- YouTube Data API Services — used to retrieve public video metadata. Our use of the YouTube API is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service, and by using our tool’s link-analysis feature, you are also agreeing to be bound by the Google Privacy Policy.
- OpenAI — used to analyze video thumbnails or uploaded frames and generate prompt reconstructions. Frames sent to OpenAI for this purpose are governed by OpenAI’s Privacy Policy.
- Google AdSense — used to display advertising, as described above.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers (including our web hosting and backend infrastructure providers) that support the operation of the site.
4. Your rights under GDPR
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:
- Request access to any personal data we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of that data
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
Since we store visitor identifiers only as irreversible hashes, we generally do not hold personal data capable of being linked back to an individual visitor through normal use of the tool. 5. Data retention
Analyzed YouTube results are cached for up to 30 days to reduce redundant API calls. Uploaded video frames are not retained after analysis. Hashed usage statistics may be retained longer for aggregate reporting purposes, but cannot be used to identify an individual.
6. Children’s privacy
VideoPromptGen is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
